WOW. WHAT. A. GAME. Everyone was on sync this week, as the offense and defense simultaneously got stops and scored. This team is a far cry away from the Monday night meltdown that they suffered at Kansas City, as that nightmare seems to be far behind this resurgent team. NE is now a team that relies on offense and a defense that can stop the pass.
Positives:
-Brady, again, was on POINT. He accumulated 354 yards and 5 TDs on just 35 pass attempts. INSANE. Since KC, Brady has a 14:0 Int ratio, and recently earned October’s AFC Offensive player of the Month. Beautiful rebound by the future HOF.
-Gronkowski is back, and what a game he had, as he nabbed 9 targets for 149 yards and 3 TDs! The only thing that could stop him was his dehydration, which probably kept him from having an even bigger game. The whole O revolves and Brady and Gronk, so it is essential that they both stay healthy.
-Revis and Browner are playing out of their minds right now. The former NY Jet is rounded himself back to his pre-ACL form, when he had the best 2 seasons from 09-10 that a Cb ever had. He was on WR Brandon Marshall today like white on rice, holding him to just 3 catches.
Browner on the other hand, held his own against Alshon Jeffery, who is a very productive WR. He however got caught with 2 penalties when facing TE Martellus Bennett, but he played really well.
Negatives:
-I’m not a huge fan of how NE played soft in the 2nd half, when they let both Jeffery and Bennett get scores. Momentum is a cruel mistress; and they need all that they can get when they face Denver next week.
Overall, it was probably the best game they played all year, tied with the showdown vs the Bengals. They have a rough game against Denver next week, but with snow likely to happen, Brady will be on fire and the Pats will win.
